The Marathon des Sables is the stuff of legends. It is the toughest footrace on Earth, a 251 km ultramarathon over six days across the desert.
Lockton's Manchester office are attempting a similarly exotic exhibition; a 50km Ultramarathon from Manchester through Oldham and Rochdale to Sowerby Bridge (Yorkshire).
The team consisting of Annmarie Milner, David Isherwood, Gabrielle Greenslade, Jonathan Hyde, Jackie Carribine, Kevin Stout, Olivia Armstrong and Stuart Wild have trained diligently for the race and are ready to start at 8am on Sunday 25th March. We will be raising money for The Lockton Charitable Association which has been established to raise funds for registered charities. Our nominated charity this year is the Rainbow Trust. The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. So far this year we have raised a phenomenal £129,730 which will be able to fund three Rainbow Trust Family Support Workers for the year.
If you would be so kind to donate even the smallest amount, it would be greatly appreciated and will help us immensely as we struggle to the end…..
